Homework
Word Study
Word Study begins in late September. Learners are grouped according to their developmental spelling level. Each group has a bi-weekly list of words. If your child is in a Word Study group with me, two sheets of homework are given out on Monday. One sheet is due on Wednesday and the other on Friday.
Students in Ms. Lelah's Word Study groups will have homework each day there is Word Study. The homework will be due the nexr day they meet for Word Study.
Word Study tests are always on Friday and each Word Study list is used for two weeks.
Reading
20 min. 5 times a week.
Initial calendar and write the minutes read each calendar day. At the end of the month, return the signed calendar.
Math
Homelink corresponding to each completed lesson. Homework is assigned nightly and due the following day. Homework assigned on Friday is not due until the following Tuesday.
Good idea- practice math facts, money, time, addition, subtraction facts, and counting by 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s. Read the Parent Letter sent home in the beginning of each unit for ideas.
Homework passes
At the end of the month, if your child has completed all homework on time, they earn a homework pass. A coupon good for 1 night of NO HOMEWORK!! These come in handy for those busy nights.
